The manual contains diagnostic (control works) that can be used to assess students' achievements in the Ukrainian language:
• seven works for thematic assessment;
• one work to assess the ability to perceive written text.
Each work for thematic assessment consists of 15 tasks of various types and is presented in two versions. The maximum possible score for completion is indicated next to the tasks.
To check spelling skills, space for dictations is provided in the notebook. To assess the ability to logically and clearly express thoughts, appropriately use words, and write correctly, students are offered to write retellings and an essay.
In addition to grading work on a 12-point scale, the teacher may express a general impression of the students' activities. For this purpose, verbal characteristics are offered at the end of each work, next to which the teacher may optionally place one or more marks.
